 Do you have a 7th or 8th grader who is interested in learning how to decorate cakes?
Sign them up for April Vacation Cake Class with The Sleepy Baker!

Here’s how it works:
Each student will be provided with a 6” chocolate or vanilla cake that is prepped to be decorated.
Each student will be provided with all of the necessary tools and materials for class.
Each student will leave class with their own beautifully decorated cake!

Day 1:
Tuesday, April 22nd 11am - 1pm

Buttercream floral cakes - Today, students will learn how to make a variety of buttercream flowers including roses, hydrangeas, pansies and sunflowers! We’ll go over how to prepare a pastry bag for piping and how to properly hold the bag. We’ll discuss different ways to color buttercream to achieve varied effects with flowers. We’ll also discuss different types of buttercream borders so students can finish their cakes like pros!

Day 2:
Wednesday, April 23rd 11am - 1pm

Unicorn cakes - Today, students will learn how to make colorful unicorns cake! They’ll get to work with both fondant and buttercream in this class. We’ll go over how to make a unicorn horn, ears and eyes. We’ll talk about different color palettes & styles for the manes of the unicorns. The students will add their own flare to make a one-of-a-kind cake!

The nitty gritty…

This 2-day drop-off class will cost $300. Enrollment is capped at 6 students. Students should expect to stand to work and will have a chance to see what it’s like to work in a commercial kitchen!
